From the chronology of events to building the defence.

Agavus is the defence dossier for lawyers in family, criminal and Maria da Penha cases. Documents, messages, photos, audio and video connected to the chronology, each party’s account and the arguments, with sources and counterpoints. Case-law verification is in development to add legal context. You review the dossier, draft the pleading, decide and sign; another lawyer can check it without redoing the search.

— §01 · Agavus

Who uses Agavus. Each by their own way in.

Agavus is a technology company for preparing defences. The dossier is the lawyer's; client service and the network of collaborators belong to a partner law firm. Agavus gives no legal service, distributes no cases and takes no share of fees.

  • Lawyer · with a case

    I have a case

You hand over the case material and review chronology, each party’s account, transcripts and sourced arguments in the dossier. Case-law verification is in development to support the pleading you draft and sign.

  • Lawyer · reviewerProposal

    I review a colleague's work

A lawyer hires you to check part of the dossier or a draft, after the conflict check. You return recorded corrections; the document stays theirs.

  • Lawyer · without a case

I want to work on new matters

When there is a partner law firm, it is the firm that decides whether and how to invite lawyers to collaborate. Agavus distributes no cases and sells no referrals.

  • Partner law firmSeeking

    We practise before the TJDFT

The firm serves people looking for a lawyer, decides what to take on and keeps its own network, with the Agavus portal. The client relationship and the fees belong to the firm.

  • Client · without a lawyer

I am looking for a lawyer

We let you know when a partner law firm opens its service in your state. Agavus is technology and gives no legal service.

  • Client · with a lawyerPlanned

    I already have a lawyer

Your lawyer will be able to invite you to send documents, messages and recordings straight to their case. There is no open sign-up: access comes only through the invitation.

Ask your lawyer for the invitation.

And the people who appear in the case without using Agavus (parties, children, witnesses) have their data protected: the case stays in the lawyer's workspace, seen only by those the lawyer authorises, and connected proceedings do not widen that access.

— §02 · Who it is for

Which describes your practice?

First focus: firms practising before the TJDFT. Pick the practice closest to yours and the page adjusts. A case can run through more than one court.

The story is in several places. The defence needs all of it.

The case runs through more than one court

Custody, criminal prosecution and protective measure over the same account. Each proceeding with its own court and its own subject, side by side.

— §03 · The problem

The problem

  1. 01

Reading, hearing and watching it all again

Petitions, messages, photos and recordings arrive at different times. To know what happened and when it was reported, you go back to the files with every new filing, and the source of each date gets lost along the way.

    In the dossier

A chronology with the date of the event, of the message, of the filing on the record and of the court notice in separate fields. Each event opens the page or the moment in the recording it came from; an uncertain date stays marked as uncertain. This sequence gives context to each party’s account and the arguments.

    event · date · source
  2. 02

The same episode, in three proceedings

One account reappears in the custody case, the investigation and the request for a protective measure, each time with a different request. Comparing the versions without mixing up the subject of each proceeding is cross-reading, done by hand.

    In the dossier

The proceedings side by side, each with its court, its parties and the reach of its decisions. The versions of the same episode sit in comparison, with the quotation from the petition beside the full conversation. Arguments show favourable evidence, counterpoints and gaps.

  3. 03

    Requested, filed or decided?

An approved draft, a filed document and a decision are different stages. Before the next step, you need to know what moved forward, what depends on confirmation and which document proves it. Case law cited in the pleading also needs checking.

    In the dossier

A board of what was requested, filed, decided and complied with, each state with the document that proves it and the date it was last checked. Nothing becomes filed without the receipt. Case-law verification in development adds official sources and passages for your confirmation; unresolved citations stay pending.

— §04 · How it works

Who does what. From chronology to preparing the pleading.

The case comes in through whoever has the material. Agavus organises events, evidence and accounts to support arguments and legal context in the dossier. You review, draft and sign; if you wish, another lawyer provides a second review. What does not exist yet is marked.

  1. 01Who brings the case

    • You, the lawyerSends documents, PJe exports, conversations, photos, audio and video from the case.
    • Your clientPlannedAt your invitation, sends what they have straight to the case. No open sign-up.
    • Partner law firmSeekingServes people looking for a lawyer, decides what to take on and runs the case in Agavus.
  2. 02Who leads it

    • Lawyer in chargeReviews the dossier, confirms sources and legal context, chooses what to argue, drafts and signs the pleading.
    • Network lawyersSeekingInvited by the partner law firm to collaborate on its cases, with access to that case only.
  3. 03What Agavus does

    • Sourced dossierPreserves the originals, transcribes, builds the chronology and connects each party’s account to evidence and arguments, with counterpoints and gaps. Case-law verification is in development; official sources and passages await lawyer confirmation.
  4. 04Before delivery

    • Second reviewProposalIf you wish, another lawyer checks sources, omissions and reasoning and returns recorded corrections.
    • Exported dossierWith the reference on every line and unresolved citations marked pending, so a colleague can check it without redoing the search.

— §05 · In development

Ten capabilities, one dossier. And a second reading, if you wish.

From chronology to arguments, every line points to its source and also shows what weighs against you. All ten capabilities are in development, including case-law verification to support preparation of the pleading. Second review is a separate proposal. You draft, decide and sign. — §06 · Commitments

Technology for the defence. The decision is the lawyer's.

Agavus organises, transcribes and proposes; it promises no outcome. Not an acquittal, not custody, not the revocation of a measure: what it delivers is a dossier that you and another lawyer can check.

  • Technology, not a law firm

Agavus gives no legal opinion, takes on no cases and does not decide the strategy. The lawyer reviews every line and answers for the filing.

  • What weighs against you shows

Unfavourable evidence sits beside the favourable. A discrepancy is a point for review, not an accusation of bad faith against anyone.

  • The original does not change

Each file keeps its origin. Every correction to a transcript, date or attribution is recorded, with who made it and when.

  • Your cases are yours

Cases do not train models. You choose who enters your workspace, and connected proceedings do not widen that access.

— §08 · How to join

Who are you?

The pilot starts at the TJDFT. Test the dossier on a case of your own.

We are looking for family, criminal and Maria da Penha lawyers practising in the Federal District (Brasília) for a small first group. The product is in development: leave your e-mail and OAB number. We start with a conversation about your work and, if there is a place, we test the dossier on a case of yours. Signing up does not guarantee a place. Do not send documents or client data here.

What happens next

  1. 01If you agree, 20 minutes for us to hear how you prepared your last case: what took time, what you had to check again. No case data.
  2. 02An invitation to test the dossier on a case of yours, depending on your firm's profile and the places available. Scope, price and data handling agreed before any file.
  3. 03An e-mail when there is a version to try. No newsletter.

— §09 · Questions

Before you join the list, what lawyers usually ask.

  • What is Agavus?

Agavus is the defence dossier for lawyers in family, criminal and Maria da Penha cases. Documents, messages, photos, audio and video are linked to the chronology, each party’s account and the arguments, and every statement opens the source it came from.

  • Who is it for?

Lawyers and firms working on the defence in family, criminal and Maria da Penha cases, starting with the TJDFT court in Brazil. People looking for a lawyer for their own case have their own way in: Find a lawyer.

  • Does Agavus replace the lawyer?

No. The AI proposes arguments with sources and counterpoints; you review the dossier, draft the pleading, decide and sign. Agavus is technology: it gives no legal opinion and takes on no cases.

  • Is case law already verified?

Not yet. Case-law verification is in development: it adds official sources and passages for you to confirm, and a citation that cannot be resolved stays pending.

  • What stage is it at?

In development. The first pilot starts at the TJDFT court, and the pilot list is how you join to test the dossier on a case of your own.
